BSI Announces Release of New Injury Prevention Device
Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI’s) are rampant in the workplace, costing billions of dollars annually. Due to this increasing RSI epidemic, Balance Systems, Inc. has announced the release of the FLEXTEND-AC, a simple device used 5-minutes per day to help prevent workplace disorders like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
The FLEXTEND®-AC is an easy-to-use prevention and rehabilitation system that focuses on reducing the onset of workplace Repetitive Strain Injuries and is used for addressing such disorders as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Cubital Tunnel, Tendonitis and more. Repetitive Strain Injuries are on the rise and individuals in every occupation, from data entry to assembly are becoming afflicted with painful and debilitating symptoms, causing lost days from work, rehabilitation, light duty restrictions, increased insurance premiums and job retraining.
Employers can now rely on a reduced rate of injury claims and employees can focus on staying healthy with the implementation of the FLEXTEND®-AC. Corporations are now embracing the use of the FLEXTEND®-AC as a part of the employee’s “job description†as workstations are set up for the sole purpose of performing short exercise routines when they first arrive at work and before they leave at the end of the day. The approach is to save money and keep employees healthy and productive by implementing simple biomechanical training programs they can perform in less than five minutes at work. As stated by Doris Tucker, Director of Employee Health at Washington’s General Hospital, “Here at the hospital, we ask the employees who are issued the FLEXTEND® gloves to do their exercises as a part of their regular job. We tell them, "The regular use of FLEXTEND® is as much a part of your job as is washing your hands before touching patients, or newborn babies." FLEXTEND® has become our initial therapy for employees who suffer from the symptoms of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.â€
The FLEXTEND®-AC targets many types of injuries with great success, utilizing a variety of physician and therapist recommended exercises and training programs for the fingers, wrists, elbows, forearms, biceps, triceps, chest and back. The FLEXTEND®-AC is portable, inexpensive, simple to use and eliminates all gripping motion, reducing unnecessary stress to the hands, which has been shown to cause further discomfort, perfect for those suffering with Osteoarthritis or other painful hand conditions.
